We have created a new silk mineral blush to accompany our silk foundations. But it is fickle ... it will also go with our matte and pearl foundations. In a muted rose, we find this blush to be lovely on all skin tones. Mineral Blush
Blush Application Technique: Dip your brush lightly into the powder & tap off any excess. Dust on to the apples of your cheeks. A bright "pop" of color in the center of the apple of your cheek is beautiful with a summer tan or combined with our mineral bronzer!
Our new SeaGlass mineral eyeshadows are inspired by the various colors of glass that are tumbled and tossed in the sea, then washed ashore. These shades are frosted with a hint of irridescence perfect for summer!

This final result is also the first product in which I have incorporated a revolutionary new vitamin complex. In addition, I have been making my own essential oils and hydrosols this summer from fresh organically grown herbs grown by myself along Lake Huron and have begun replacing plain water with infused herbal flowers and fresh hebal hydrosols in my skin care products. A new Silk Blush is just out of production. We are calling it Desert Rose and it blends beautifully with the Silk Foundations. I will be adding a Mineral Makeup Kit with the Silk shades soon. Our new silk base contains 2 new ingredients for our foundations: Talc and Cornstarch. Talc give the product greater adhesion and results in fewer fly-a-way powders. Our annual eye shadow review is scheduled for mid-July. I plan to add a 5th Collection of eye shadow shades made with the new Silk base. Because that base expresses colors so beautifully, I will be moving the more colorful shades to this collection, as well as reducing the number of shades per collection to 5. This will give us a total of 25 eye shadows. As fall approaches, I will be offering sets of all 5 shades in a collection as well as all 25 eye shadows. As part of the review of the eye shadows, I will be re-photographing all shades, updating the descriptions and listing ingredients of each collection separately.

After 8 years of developing and manufacturing mineral makeup, I wanted to 'change the way things were going down' and develop a new mineral base for my products. Six months of trials have resulted in a new Silk Base that I am extremely pleased with and excited to share with you. This base is less 'white' than the matte and pearl bases, resulting in truer & clearer colors. The first product using the new base is our Silk Mineral Foundation collection:

Am I Cool?
Finding makeup that compliments your skin can be tricky. Being able to determine your skin tone will help you to make informed decisions about color selections. There are several tests and simple observations you can make that will help you figure out what your skin tone is.
You will need: pure white towel or piece of paper,
mirror, silver and gold jewelry.
Instructions: Pull your hair back into a pony tail or use a head band to keep all of the hair off of your face. Wash your face and then place a white towel around your neck & shoulders. The pure white cloth or paper will reflect skin undertones. If your face looks yellow next to the white towel you have a warm skin tone and if it looks more blue then you have a cool skin tone.
Next: Turn over your arm and look at the veins. Veins that appear greenish indicate yellow undertones which means that your skin tone is warm. Veins that appear more blue indicate blue undertones which means your skin tone is cool.
Observe the effect that gold and silver jewelry have on the way your skin looks. This is a helpful way to determine your skin tone. If you look better in silver jewelry you have a cool skin tone, and if you look better in gold then you have a warm skin tone.
Look at the natural color of your hair and eyes. People with cool tones usually have blue, green, or grey eyes with blond, black, or brown hair. Those with warm skin tones often have brown, black, or hazel eyes with black, brown, blond, red, or strawberry blond hair.
Still not sure? You may simply be one of the lucky ones that looks good in just about any color and can wear any jewelry. In which case, you are a Neutral. See Balanced Undertones below.
Now that you have determined your skin tone or undertones, you will be able so find the shade below that works best for you. I always recommend that you order samples first to make sure your selections are correct to work best for your skin tone.
Balanced Undertones - Caucasian with fair beige skin that when trying to determine your skin tone, you find that you just can`t determine a specific tone, you look good in just about any color and can wear both silver and gold jewelry, then you may just be one of the lucky ones who has a neutral skin tone. You should choose Neutral or Beige foundation shades. This means basically any color of clothing, jewelry or hair will look good on you.
Pink Undertones - Caucasions who are very fair, burn before you tan, and your skin has pink undertones you should choose Cool or Beige Rose foundation shades. Your veins will look blue on the underside of your wrist. You look better in silver jewelry. Cool skin tone individuals look best in jewel tones such as blue, red, and purple.
Yellow Undertones - Caucasions, Latino, Asian and Light Mixed Race with golden beige skin and your skin has yellow undertones you should choose Warm or Beige Amber foundation shades. Your veins will look green on the underside of your wrist. You look better in gold jewelry. If you find that your skin tone is warm you will look best in earth tones such as browns, yellows, oranges and cream.
Green Undertones - Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Latino with olive beige skin and your skin has gree undertones you should choose Olive or Beige Olive foundation shades. Your veins will look green on the underside of your wrist. You look better in gold jewelry.
